moving on ...

moving on

it's already past 3am,

(and there's a strong wind outside; the rain's getting stronger, too)

... and am still here in front of the computer! :D

yup, decided to "move on" since i really don't like the pop-ups that has invaded my page! so annoying..and am so sure you are annoyed with it, too!!!

anyway, decided to "make" a new page, and here's the link. it's still basically "under construction", since i started on it just around 2 hours ago... i hope i'll see you there, too! :o)

enjoy your weekend!

[and i need some sleep... *yawn*]

alibata ( "baybayin"/"to spell" )

http://www.eaglescorner.com/baybayinsymbols.html

( webpage shot)
for a much better view, click on this site..

Keeping myself busy understanding these...!!

Those scripts are what we call alibata, an ancient writing system used here in the Philippines, before the Spaniards came ( and i guess before we were being named Philippines!! ) . Too bad it isn't being taught in our schools. i think some schools do teach this, but it certainly isn't compulsory...

I remember, i think i took this shot last summer (may2006) when we went to Quezon City Memorial Circle..and it depicts here these ancient Filipino scripts being written on bamboo ... no wonder nothing is left of those originals!

qc circle

took the above shot from this structure:

for an interesting read, here are some links: origin, translate some word/words to alibata, and some more links! :o)

"Our ancestors wrote messages on palm leaves and on bamboo slats. They left them on mountain trails for a passerby to deliver to the addressee in another town in case he was going that way. Now we write on computer screens and send messages around the world at the speed of light." - written by Hector Santos

ultimate

game

watched this last weekend...

while waiting, at the university.

interestingly, saw this game, too:

frisbee catch

and this...

frisbee

didn't know what kind of game they were playing, but i think it's called the Ultimate.

*"Frisbee" is a registered trademark of the Wham-O company and not the brand used in Ultimate Players Association-sanctioned competitions. "Discraft is the official disk of the UPA," says executive director Bob Byrne. "We aren't using Frisbees." -- written by Carol Kauder in this article.

jeepney

passed by
Cubao area
yesterday,
where you can find loads of jeepneys
with interesting
graphic designs...

traffic in this area of Cubao (Aurora Ave.) is reputed to be terrible ...
(surprisingly, it was fine yesterday..maybe because
it was a Sunday??!!)
... but at least it offered good
photo opportunities!

:o)

Vvvrrroooommm!
